Food Fest at BYU–Hawaii

Food Fest is a fundraising event for BYU–Hawaii clubs, typically held during the fall semester. The event brings students, campus partners, and the local community together to share food, culture, and experiences that reflect BYU–Hawaii’s diverse campus.

How It Works

Active clubs that wish to participate submit a proposed menu item or items, including ingredients and pricing, for approval. Pre-sale menus are made available several weeks before the event, with tickets also available on site the night of Food Fest.

Participating students receive guidance on proper food handling and safety. Each club is responsible for the preparation, cooking, marketing, and sale of its food items at its booth during the event.

Proceeds from each club booth support club activities and supplies throughout the academic year.

Food Handing

Student Leadership & Services will ensure event operations are in compliance with BYU–Hawaii, and the Oahu Department of Health Food Safety rules and regulations. Clubs are responsible for ensuring that all food provided complies with the Department of Health Food Safety standards. Food Permits have been issued by the Oahu Department of Health Food Safety Branch for each food booth. Members of BYU–Hawaii Food Services will monitor and verify that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures during this event.
