Ti Leaf Lei Making

Wednesday, April 01
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Banyan Dining Hall

Exact Location: Between Banyan and Mckay Building

Join us in creating traditional ti leaf lei to honor service members for Memorial Day. Ti leaves, known in Hawai‘i as kī, have long been valued for their protective and healing properties. In this activity, participants will learn how to prepare, soften, braid, and tie ti leaves into a lei symbolizing love, respect, and remembrance.

As you craft your lei, we invite you to reflect on the sacrifice made by those who served. Each lei created will be donated and placed on the graves at the National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) during the annual Memorial Day ceremony.
